MORE ENERGIZED STUDENTS AT MELLERVANGSKOLEN IN AALBORG
Mellervangskolen in Aalborg, with approximately 430 students and 100 staff members, had an outdated ventilation system that delivered a constant airflow without regulation. This led to increased energy consumption and a suboptimal indoor environment for both students and staff.
Lindinvent – the smart solution
Aalborg Municipality discovered Lindinvent’s active supply air diffuser TTC through a collaboration with Lidköping Municipality. After a successful study visit and positive references, the municipality decided to implement Lindinvent’s demand-controlled ventilation as part of the school’s comfort ventilation renovation.
Ventek Ventilation A/S was assigned the installation, and in collaboration with Brix & Kamp A/S, the best solution was developed. A total of 197 TTC units with CO₂ sensors were installed in all rooms, along with airflow regulators. In rooms without suspended ceilings, free-hanging diffusers were used. LINDINTELL and LINDINSPECT® were integrated to enable real-time visualization, monitoring, and optimization of the indoor climate.
The project began in July 2019 and was completed in February 2020. Due to strict Danish regulations for airflow measurement, extensive testing was conducted under three different scenarios – full occupancy, partial occupancy, and empty rooms – to ensure optimal performance.
The result: A healthier and more productive school
Today, Mellervangskolen benefits from an improved indoor climate, enhancing both well-being and academic performance for students and staff. The demand-controlled ventilation has also resulted in lower energy consumption and more sustainable operation. We are proud that our systems and products contribute to creating the future’s brightest minds in Denmark.
In Denmark, strict airflow measurement regulations required us to conduct thorough testing in different scenarios: full occupancy, partial occupancy, and when the school was empty.
